Yaye! I’ve finished my bio+physics exam. That’s the only exam besides history that I’ve been studying for. Now, the next thing to study is geography. Sigh… but I still feel that I’ve nothing left to study, like there’s no more goals to work for. So maybe I’ll just not study and flunk my exams. There’s still geog, math, lang arts and Chinese left. So I study for geog… I can’t study for maths. There’s no need to anw and I dunno how to study for lang arts and DON’T WANT to study for Chinese. Oh well, yeah.

GS was quite okay la, ya. But I didn know a lot. Like at least 6 from MCQ alone and 2 from physics and 3 from bio. Sigh… stupid sea breeze la. That’s 4 marks oredi. And mong shing did not teach us a question – what’s the diff between the atria and ventricles of the heart; the functions, ya. That’s 2 marks okay… and whats the diff anw. 1’s just higher and the other’s @ da lower part of the heart. So I wrote CRAP like… the ventricles pushes blood into the atria and the atria pushes blood into the aorta??? I dunno la, but it was just crap that didn make sense. And I WASTED 10 mins on just that question alone thinking what diffs there were in the way they functioned but still, who cares la. S-T-U-P-I-D. physics I just forgot the definition of density so I just wrote “Density is the volume of an object divided by the mass of an object.” Lol. That’s the formula(???) or… whatcha call tt? Ya.

Anw, the com’s conking out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. what will happen to all the photos if it breaks down??? Nooooooo… that’s why I haven’t been playing, so sad. So I just com onto the computer, try to fix the internet and TRY to go to msn but it does not work. But now I know, I must set the date and time on the computer 1st before the internet will work. Come to think of it, it shud hv been supa easy to score and do well for this EOYs . the teachers gave a lot of hints eg history and lang arts and gs. But wasted again la… I didn bother to go through any thing, esp for lang arts. And the 2006 history EOY paper was like damn difficult. Aunty Siew Luan printed it from the library for me (: I wonder how the sec 1s 06 did it… so many things that are not inside the txtbk and additional sections. This year the hist teachers oredi took out short answer and definitions and told us SEQ will be on chp 8 9 10 and I still did not hv time to finish properly and remember everything. But the additional facts in the 06 paper… I think it may be becos we used diff txtbks??? Dunno, oh well… been typing crap for a long time now… ooh! Heyo! oh man, September holidays are ending! Damn! And I haven’t completed my hol. hw. I left two books in school so I cant do them. I’m so screwed. Ms Sharon will definitely kill me. Die.

hey! JBF's over. it wasnt that bad. surprisingly, i didn get nervous (: yaye!

we didn play as loud as we did during rehearsal though. sorry constance. :( oh well, it's over (:

we reached VCH and when it was time to hv lunch, we cudn find the spoons. haha. then after that, we had a 'briefing' and we 'warmed-up'. haha, it's too early too be called a proper warm-up (: okay, then we watched the other bands have their sound check. loyang's tpet section was quite good. haha, but they didn play beyond the highlands (: xinmin's bth's solo was good. err... ya.

then it was SCGS's turn... yaye... i cudn play the high notes for bfits bar 45 (: and bar 54 (: haha. i thought i was loud, i mean, not LOUD but loud compared to during band prac (:

then we had rest and we watched the performance. hey! fu hua primary school played the same songs we/they played for 'My First Concert' :\ wth. oh well. they are all so smalllll. but noisy. heh heh.

okay, then we performed. i was softer than the rehearsal but oh well. eugenie said that bth and bfits was quite good BUT brs, we were too soft. cudn be heard :\ oh mannnnns. i forgot all about pushing air. i sort of screwed up the second solo though. heh. didn play the 1st few notes and then i forgot to turn the stand so natalie cud see the notes for bar 72. dang. conny was quite happy though, after the performance. on the bus back to school, i had a long, nice talk with ru yue. she's nice(: she talked about how sucky it was to be a scholar and stuff (: oh! and i found out she is 17 years old! i thought she was 16. heh heh. and she kept saying that we had to play loud, tongue clearer etc. before the performance and said that we were playing in thos concert all for constance - NOT kds (; so sweet right? and she said we must not let conny down and we shud play the best we can to show conny she has succeeded in coaching us (: haha

Bar 54: Make sure the chords are there! Accent the notes!
For the remaining parts, i am not too sure what to say because i dont have the scores!
Teeny weeny bikini part
Rachel! Your solo is very important! Remember to come out from the band! You can do it
Oh, the slow part before Bar 76, remember to play it loudly and confident and at Bar 76 Onwards, we are sort of communicating with the flutes, so remember to listen out and play with confidence, remember, relaxed embrochure and fast air for high notes.
Bar 97: Wipe Out
Remember about your articulation! Play loudly! Play as a section and push air in for the volume. and remember to play loudly for the 2 chrochet parts towards the end!

BEYOND THE HIGHLANDS
In general, just remember about the articulation, come in strongly! As desouza say, we are the section starting off so a good starting = winning half the battle! and rachel! your solo is good! dont give up, must be brave! feel the music and flow with it... Let it flow let it flow... PLAY LOUDLY!

IN GENERAL
1. Remember to listen out to each other
2. Think of a round and nice tone coming out of an instrument
3. ARTICULATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. LAST BUT NOT LEAST! ENJOY YOURSELF AND ENJOY THE MUSIC YOU MAKE! if even you yourself dont enjoy it, how do you expect the audience to enjoy. Just remember to give it all, 10000000% I know you all can do it! Trust me and trust yourself!

hey all! computer's finally working again. i mean, connected again.

these few holiday days, we've been painting the house and clearing up stuff for the new study table to come (:

band these past...3 days yah, was kinda sucky, but also more funnnnn! haha. sucky coz i have to change my embrochure and i cant really play properly now. the bolded part is the sucky part, yeah. and it is more fun coz... hmmmm... haha, coz, i dunno, but it is more fun, haha.

yah, hmmm, JBF's like, only 2days away!!!! shit. and i am still strugling to play even a normal A. my embrochure... gahhhh and i cant blow faaaast air. i shal try. tmr, if my lips aren't tired. i've been blowing and blowing and squeezing and squeezing for 3 days straight. MAYBE its because my lips are tired (: thats why i cant play properly and maintain the new embrouchure(:

heh, okay, Eugenie said it may be a possibility (:

constance has been trying to help me with it, heh, but i stil cant. :\ sorry.

okay, dunno wad else to sayyyyy... but poshy's being silly. (: that silly dog.
my mum put those sticker earrings on HIS ear and he was trying to eat it. he tries to eat ANYTHING. hehe. silly boy.
and last night, coz there was paint smell, we slept without aircon and at 4 am, posh came in and knocked down the rubberband box. he woke me up :\ haha, funnneee. and he was sniffing it and when i got up and STARED at him, he stared back at me and ran out of the room. (;

ohhh, here's wad i can do to make a nicer ~~trumpet, no,~~ CORNET sound

for faster airspeed, use tongue;
hit tongue against teeth and quickly pull back to let the air flow through more smoothly.

for nicer tone;
control air;
1) relax lips so it won't obstruct oncoming air from flowing out (bigger air hole more air can flow out)
2) air must be CONSTANT and SMOOTH
3) tongue preferably move away during long notes so it won't block the air (move tongue down)
